Club Night – Speaker Peter Mitchell on Street Photography and the Legalities
ABOUT PETER:
I take street photos which are candid photos in public places. I don’t ask permission to take whatever is happening in front of me when I do this. I strive to capture candid moments as people live out their lives while out in public. This is a specific type of photography which in reality is not for everyone but for those interested in doing it it can become very addictive. One of my talks is how this fits in with the law. There are some myths out there and none are bigger than the idea you can’t take photos of people without their permission, particularly children. With this talk I try to show the reality and dispel the myths. The second thing I do is a presentation.about street photography, its history and what we are trying to capture when we do it. This talk can stand alone or be done in conjunction with an on the street practical workshop in a second session. I have done these talks at many clubs around the state and did the talk about the law at a PSQ Convention a couple of years ago.
